Occasionally you may see the following error (or something eerily similar) when trying to install the Newtek shopping cart:

Control Center
An unhandled exception has occurred. The Control Center development team has been notified of this error. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue.

MESSAGE = Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

STACKTRACE = at ControlCenterNET.frmNewtekECart.DoInstallation() at ControlCenterNET.frmNewtekECart.btnDoInstallation_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at CCWebControls.TextImageButton.OnClick(EventArgs e) at CCWebControls.TextImageButton.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) at System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(IPostBackEventHandler sourceControl, String eventArgument) at System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(NameValueCollection postData) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

This should only happen if you are re-installing the cart and copying over existing files. When you delete the cart from within the WebControlCenter you are essentially just removing the license and any associated fees from your account - actual cart files are not unistalled or deleted from your site. Therefore, if you do see this error the best thing to do is delete any shopping cart files from wherever they were intiailly installed (i.e., from the root of the site or any sub-folder). Once the files are deleted, attempt the installation again.
