Upgrading from ColdFusion MX 6, 7, or 8 to ColdFusion 9

The ColdFusion design team worked diligently to maintain backward compatibility in ColdFusion 9 for applications coded for previous versions of the platform. According to Adobe, ColdFusion MX 6, 7, and 8 applications should seamlessly migrate to Version 9.

ColdFusion 9 provides improved application performance with more granular control over code, templates, and applications.  A list of the top new features in this version is available from the Adobe website by clicking here.

A list of new, deprecated, and obsolete tags in ColdFusion can be found here (this list indicates the specific release of ColdFusion in which the change was made).
